BLEED WITH CARE : SUSTAINABLE MENSTRUATION CAMPAIGN

On this 28th May, we are going to observe yet another World Menstrual Hygiene Day. Every year, this day is celebrated globally to highlight the importance of good menstrual hygiene management. This program was put forward by the German-based NGO WASH United in 2014. The day offers an opportunity to actively advocate for the integration of menstrual hygiene management (MHM) into global, national, and local policies and programs.

Non-profits, government agencies, individuals, the private sector, and the media around the globe use this opportunity to publicize information in the media.

MentX has taken a step forward to give our active contribution to this year’s World Menstrual Hygiene Day Celebrations. As a part of this, we are launching a 28-day Social Media Campaign. The theme of our campaign is,

SUSTAINABLE MENSTRUATION

As the word indicates, Sustainable Menstruation is the use of environment-friendly menstrual products. According to the latest report published by the Water Aid and Menstrual Hygiene Alliance of India (MHAI), it is estimated that almost one billion sanitary pads are used and disposed of every year in India. These statistics show the urgent need to switch to environmental-friendly period products. This change is inevitable not only for the protection of environment but also for the good health of menstruating people. Synthetic products used by the majority of the population actually have life-threatening issues.
